I was looking for a very simple milk tea while in Evanston, and realized that there were many places to choose from. I came here because I heard they have a student discount, which they did (10% off). They have a pretty large menu and even had some creative milk teas but I ordered the classic Assam. I could taste the tea which was nice but it was a bit watery on the whole. Nevertheless it was pretty affordable and felt light. They get a younger crowd in here which was fine but noisy. I wasn’t too drawn in by the atmosphere anywho, somewhat overstimulating.

Whoever was manning the register deserves to be fired. After placing the order, and being the only customers at the shop waiting for drinks, we were confused by the lack of actions. Just a cashier with her phone chilling. Gradually, more ppl coming in. More orders placed. With the person on the register never attempting to make a drink whatsoever. Just piling up on the orders placed. We were beginning to question if there was someone making orders in the back. But no. She was supposed to make the order a looong time ago. More orders placed. More chatting. More looking around. Don’t know how many orders later and how many ppl after us got their drinks as well, she finally asked if I was indeed getting a hot drink instead of cold. So what was I waiting for all that time? You played on your phone, you ignored an order clearly placed. You took in more orders and skipping an earlier drink. I don’t even know what to say at this point. What was the hiring process? Also there’s another girl who seems to be all busy in the back carrying things over and back, so what is this cashier girl doing really?

I went here at 8:30 and ordered two drinks, but it took about 30 minutes to get them. During that time, there were two employees just talking to each other instead of making the drinks. When we finally got our order, there was no acknowledgment or apology for the long wait. Unfortunately, the drinks were also terrible. They didn’t use a shaker, so the drinks were very powdery and basically undrinkable,we ended up tossing them after a few sips. I understand that drinks can sometimes turn out bad, but the rude attitude from the staff made the experience even worse. I wouldn’t come back here again.

I apologize for taking so long to leave a shining review for this boba house but it was May of last year when I first brought my wife & kids here and definitely won't be the last. We live pretty far north in Beach Park in northeastern Lake Co but just got done roaming around Old Orchard Mall in Skokie so naturally after dinner I always ask my boys what they want for dessert which is typically bubble tea. We've explored many of the bubble tea parlors in that area and neighboring communities so what's a further drive east to cool downtown Evanston. Googled bubble tea in Evanson and a handful of places came up so randomly chose Tealicious for a start. First time here and we really enjoyed it. Huge array of tea styles here whether fruit tea, milk tea, smoothies, coconut drink, matcha options and snacks as well. The one thing I did notice about this house is they seem true to the roots compared to most boba venues I've been to. The bubble tea is delicious here and would most definitely stop in here again. We ordered the mango smoothie and the coconut passion fruit smoothie which were good. My companion said the popcorn chicken didn’t have any flavor but I didn’t taste it. The teriyaki shrimp bento had no teriyaki flavor or sauce whatsoever. The shrimp were plain on top of rice. There was a soy egg, a big scoop of corn, and a few veggies. The rice had a little soy or teriyaki on it, but not enough to impart flavor on the dish much less the shrimp. The food was disappointing.
